The Serra

The westernmost portion of Biellese is the Serra, a straight moraine hill about 20 km long, which marks the border with Canavese (province of Turin in the territory of Ivrea). It comes from the slopes of the Colma di Mombarone (2,371 m) and gradually lower, ending in the hills of Salussola and around Lake Viverone. Its shape is unique in Europe, although similar to that of other moraine hills of northern Italy, as in the southern shore of Lake Garda.

The routes I want to include in this section do not remain exclusively in the Biellese, but often also touch localities in Canavese.
